Caprese Salad

                              Caprese Salad

Original recipe makes 6 servings                   
Makes servings:           
  • 4 large ripe tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 1 pound fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • 1/3 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • fine sea salt to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • PREP15 mins
  • READY in 15 mins
  1. On a large platter, alternate and overlap the tomato slices, mozzarella cheese slices, and basil leaves. Drizzle with olive oil. Season with sea salt and pepper.
I like my salad rustic so the large cuts. Look this is the easiest salad to make. if you like small bites use mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes and rip up some fresh basil. I like to drizzle balsamic vinegar over the top. now you know what I'm going to say you can make great apps. with this set-up get toothpicks and alternate items to make the appetizers.
